Marilu Navarro, Counselor
I am thrilled to be the school counselor at Hornsby Dunlap Elementary for my third year! Born and raised in Los Angeles, I began my school counseling journey with LAUSD. I am now proud to serve Del Valle ISD, bringing my passion for student success to our community. As a parent myself, I understand the importance of supporting the whole child.
Following the ASCA and Texas School Counselor Model, I work to create a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses the unique needs of our students, with a strong focus on closing the educational achievement gap.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, I strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where all students feel valued and can reach their full potential. Beyond school, I enjoy sewing, cooking, and traveling with my family.
